I have a Sara board which has worked, uploaded data to the IOT allthingstalk platform and I could communicate with through the Arduino (1.8.10) IDE on windows 10.
Recently after trying to upload a sketch I could no longer communicate with the board and have been troubled since. I couldn’t communicate with the board at all.
I have tried to completely remove the libraries and reinstall the IDE with the SODAQ libraries. When I plug the board into the USB the lights do come on and the IDE shows that com7 is being used but when I try to get the info from the board it says that “Board unknown”
I cannot upload any new sketches.
I have tried pressing the reset button once & twice in succession but no success.
What am I missing or should try? Is my board broken?
What version of the SODAQ boardfiles do you have installed?
cch - SODAQ AVR 1.2.0 & SODAQ SAMD 1.6.20
Do you use the correct USB port? The USB next to the SIM slot is the correct one.
cch - Yes, I have also another SODAQ with a different problem (no connection) and the IDE does recognise this one correctly
Can you install the Arduino SAMD boards (Cortex-m0+)
These will install the latest drivers from Arduino.
cch - Yes already done so, see above
Sometimes when you had connected/disconnected multiple times Windows needs a reboot.
cch - Yes I know, have rebooted several times and also cleaned registry to start afresh/clean install.
As I said above I have another SODAQ board that cannot connect to network (I still need to return) and this board is recognised and provides the correct information.
This morning I tried to send an email to your support directly. I hope board is not broken as this would mean they are pretty fragile
Maybe it’s better to then return the boards so we can check them in the office.
Could be something went wrong in production, although they should have been tested after assembly.
